ATT NATIONAL FINALS
Clondalkin Gymnastics Club recently had 17 Gymnasts
who had qualified to represent South Dublin at the ATT National Finals in
Carlow on December 9th.
First to take to the floor was the Grade3 Womens Trio
of Sophie Toomey, Fiona Taoley and Zoe Taylor followed by the Grade 3 mixed
pair of Barry Gouldsbury and Beatrice Fagan, the combined score of the two
routines earned them the team Bronze Medal.
Next to take their place on the medal podium also
winning a team Bronze Medal were the Grade1 Team of two Womens Pairs Grace
Carey and Brianna Sheehan with Yasmin Kilduff and Laura Brophy.
And late in the day the PrepB Team competing in their
first National Finals Womens Pairs Laura Kiely and Aoife Smullen with Niamh
McDonagh and Brianna Mangan also won the Team Bronze Medal.
In total the Club
brought home 13 medals.

GYMFUSION - BELFAST
For the second year in a row Precision Display Squad travelled to Belfast to take part in Gymfusion, the team produced a brilliant performance to a packed crowd and guest of honour Olympic Bronze Medalist Beth Tweddle, definately the highlight of the trip was getting to meet Beth and have photographs taken with her and her Olympic Medal.

INTERNATIONAL NEWS
The Display Squad have just returned from a very successful trip to Sapphire Gymnastics Club in Glasgow, Scotland who hosted a fantastic three day festival, the whole squad plus Coaches and Parents had a great time, Precision performed on each of the three days and were thrilled to win the Trophy for Best Overall Team Performance as well as the Trophy for Best Costume too! and to complete the hat-trick Emma O'Brien won the prize for the longest held Planche.

CELTIC CUP - GOLD MEDAL
On the 17th March Sophie Toomey and Zoe Taylor who had been selected to represent Ireland as a Grade 2 Pair in the Celtic Cup Competition traveled to Belfast with Head Coach Emer Kavanagh and supporters, it was a fantastic days competition and the girls were thrilled to return with a GOLD Medal. Well done Girls, great achievement.
SWITZERLAND ACRO COMPETITION
At the beginning of March seven of the Clubs Gymnasts plus Head Coach Emer Kavanagh and accompanying Parents headed off to Geneva in Switzerland to take part in an International Acro Competition. The standard of competition was very high and our Gymnasts rose to the occasion bringing home five medals!

TRIP TO UK
Precision Display Squad have just returned from the UK were they once again took part in the City of Leeds Gymfest. 40 teams of 750 Gymnasts travelled from all over England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales to take part. It was a great weekend for the team who performed the new routine which Squad Coach Denise Coughlan had created for them and which included new balances never before attempted by the Squad. All the hours of training paid off when they were for the second year in a row awarded one of only 3 Trophies given out on the day. Well done everyone and a big thank you to all the Parents ans supporters that made this trip possible.

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the recent ATT South Dublin Regional Competition it was a very close competition and we are delighted to have 21 Gymnasts from PrepB through to Grade 3 going forward to National Finals in Carlow next month, a big thank you to Arabian Gymnastics Club who hosted the competition.

Precision Display Squad were recently invited to perform at Gymfusion Northern Ireland which was held in Belfast. The team had a great day out and performed a new routine lots of teams travelled from all over Northern Ireland to take part in this new event and we look forward to returning next year for the next gymfusion.

Congratulations to Yvonne Kavanagh and Sarah Toomey who recently both passed their latest coaching exams they are both now qualified Club Coaches and the Club would like to thank them for their commitment,in both the time it takes to study, log coaching training hours and taking the exams and also the finnancial commitment to the programme as well.
Well done girls great to have two more qualified Coaches on the team.
NEWS - JUNE 2011
Clondalkin Gymnastics Club recently held their End of Year Display in Clondalin Sports and Leisure Centre. After a very busy and successful year of competitions the Gymnasts looked forward to showcasing their talents to family and friends without the usual pressures of the competition arena.
Head Coach Emer Kavanagh helped by Assistant Coach Yvonne Kavanagh put together a total of 7 Routines in a very short space of time for the Senior and Intermediate Gymnasts of the Club to perform. Each routine was designed to show each individuals talents and progress in the areas of Acrobatic floor routines displaying balance and dynamic moves, the Club over the years has been proud to have many All-Ireland Champions amongst its members including the current All-Ireland mixed Pair Champions who won Gold at last months Acro Championships held in Galway.
Following on from this was a superb display of tumbling on the Clubs own 40metre Tumbling track with the most Senior Gymnasts producing runs which included mutiple flips whips and twists which these Gymnasts had performed the previous month at the Tumbling All-Ireland Finals bringing home no less than 6 National medals for Dublin and the Club.
Next it was onto the trampoline display, the Club owns its own International Competition size trampoline and the gymnasts were only too delighted to show off there skills on this piece of apparatus, with the help of the ceiling suspended harness Gymnast quickly learn the skills needed to produce double somersaults and twists. For the first time in recent years the Club also had a boys only floor routine made up of the Clubs most Senior male Gymnasts.
The final performance of the afternoon came from Precision Display Squad this team Coached by Denise Coughlan is made up of the Clubs most talented and senior Gymnasts who performed the routine that won them the Trophy for best Choreography at a competion in the UK earlier this year. While the rest of the Club now take a break for the Summer months the most Senior Gymnasts will continue to train through the Summer to maintain their fitness and prepare for the coming competition season.

SOUTH DUBLIN ACRO REGIONAL
Clondalkin Gymnastics Club recently hosted the annual South Dublin Acro Regional Competition. A total of 22 Gymnasts from the Club qualified to go forward to represent Dublin at the All-Ireland National Finals that will be held in Galway.
First up at Novice Level PrepB the Boys Pair of Sasha Jackson and Jason Doyle Came 1st and in 2nd Place Alice Maguire And Vicky Gallagher.
At Grade1 the Womens pair of Fiona Tapley and Grace Kavanagh took the Gold Medal followed by Maria Odouka and Niamh McDonagh winning Silver.
Next up were the Grade1 Trios - 1st place went to Rebecca O’Neill, April Greene and Briana Sheehan and in 2nd Place Sarah Toomey, Fiona Tapley and Grace Kavanagh.
The second half of the competition saw the Grade 2 partnerships take to the floor, in the Womens pairs Sophie Toomey and Zoe Taylor took the Gold medal followed by Rachel Kavanagh and Emma O’Brien in Silver position and Grace Collins and Lisa Hickey taking the Bronze.
In the Grade 2 Trios Rachel Kavanagh, Grace Collins and Lisa Hickey came1st followed closely by Sophie Toomey, Grace Carey and Aine Sheehan in 2nd place.
The Grade 3 mixed pair of Barry Gouldsbury and Beatrice Fagan finished off a successful day for the Club by qualifying in 1st place. All gymnasts are now looking forward to competing against the very best from all over the country at National Finals in Galway.
TUMBLING RESULTS
Clondalkin Gymnastics Club Tumblers have triumphed again.
The All-Ireland National Tumbling Finals took place in Greystones Co. Wicklow recently, 85 of the best gymnasts from all over the country had qualified through their own regional competitions to earn a place at National Finals.
Clondalkin Gymnastics Club had 14 Tumblers representing South Dublin and were delighted to return home with 6 medals including 3 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze.
In the morning session first up at Regional Level 2 Girls 15+ Grace Collins won Silver, followed by Stephen Kelly competing at National Level 1 Boys age 12 to 13yrs who took Gold.
In the afternoon session Clondalkin G.C. had a clean sweep of medals at National Level 3 Girls 15+ with Beatrice Fagan winning Gold, Sophie Toomey winning Silver and Amy Slaughter winning Bronze.
And to finnish off the day Fiona Tapley at National level 5 Girls 15+ produced an impressive run which ended with her landing a full twist to fininsh and take the Gold medal.
Tumbling is now taking a back seat as the Club will focus its attention in the next few weeks on Acro Finals which take place in Galway at the begining of May

INTERNATIONAL RESULTS
Congratulations to PRECISION DISPLAY SQUAD who have just returned from a triumphant trip to the UK. Thirteen members of the Squad, along with Squad Coach Denise Coughlan, Head Coach Emer Kavanagh plus Parents all travelled to Leeds to take part in a Gymfest Competition. The Squad were performing for the first time the new routine that they had been training hard for the past 4 months. There were 750 Gymnasts in 40 Teams taking part from all over the British Isles so it was a very busy day and the standard was very high. Only 4 Teams were awarded Trophys and Precision were delighted to be awarded the trophy for 'Best Choreoghraphy' as well as all the girls receiving medals. The Squad and Club would like to thank everyone who supported them in order to make this trip possible.

ALL IRELAND TALENT SHOW
Congratulations to PRECISION DISPLAY SQUAD who on August 21st attended open auditions for RTE's ALL IRELAND TALENT SHOW and were lucky enough to be picked to go through to the next round where they will perform before the celebrity judge and hopefully make it through to the live shows.
After they had been chosen to go forward to the next round they then filmed a promo video with GRAINNE SEOIGE which will be shown on RTE as the trailer for the show.
Well done to everyone involved what a fun day we had.

The Club have been featured in the Clondalkin Echo and Clondalkin Gazette twice this month. Early in the month there was an article about our very successful Club end of year display and two weeks later the Display Team had a report about their recent performance at an International Gym Festival held in UCD.
DISPLAY SQUAD
From September 2010 the Display Team will become a permanent feature of the Club. We have for almost 2yrs had a part-time display team which has been a very successful and rewarding experience for all involved. The Team will now be known as "Precision Display Squad" and will have a dedicated weekly training session. Places on the Squad are by invitation only.

MINI-MARATHON
Your Coaches and some of the Mums + Gymnasts have kindly agreed to give up their June Bank Holiday to take part in the Women’s Mini-Marathon in order to raise funds for the Club.

INTERNATIONAL GYMFEST
The Club’s Display Team have been invited to take part in an International Gymnastics Festival taking place in UCD.
The display team will once again perform the routine which they were awarded a Bronze Medal for at last years World Championships in Austria.
All are welcome to come and watch this event on Sunday 20th June 2010 in UCD. Tickets are not needed as you can pay at the door

ALL-IRELAND NATIONAL ACRO CHAMPIONSHIPS
The All-Ireland National Acro Finals were held in Sligo on May 8th + 9th and we had a very strong team competing this year.
It was the largest entry for many years from all over Ireland and all of our Team performed extremely well on both days.
Special congratulations go to Grade1 mixed pair Stephen Kelly + Monika Nzgheum and Grade 3 mixed pair Barry Gouldsbury + Beatrice Fagan who all brought home Gold medals.

ATT TROPHY SOUTH DUBLIN REGIONAL
Sunday 15th November was the date of the South Dublin Regional Finals for the ATT TROPHY and we are delighted to report that 21 Gymnasts from our Club have qualified for the National Finals which will be held in the National Basketball Arena inTallaght on December 12th. The Club will be represented at all levels from PrepA through to Grade3. Good luck to all who are taking part and for those who were not selected this time keep training hard for the next chance to represent the Club.
TOY SHOW
Congratulations to Team Austria who reached the FINAL auditions of the LATE LATE TOY SHOW. Last weekend we had an early start on Saturday morning at 6.30am! to prepare for filming in RTE studios in Donnybrook were the Team once again got to perform their Bronze Medal winning routine from the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS earlier this year. Although the production team in RTE were amazed by their performance due to the constraints of live TV and studio space they will be unable to perform their full routine live on the night but they will be showing a clip of the routine that they have already filmed so don't miss it Friday 27th November. Well done girls and thanks again to all the Coaches, Parents and supporters who made this possible.

GFA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS - CONGRATULATIONS!
July 19th - After five days in Austria at the GFA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS Our Team of 16 Gymnasts returned to a triumphant welcome at Dublin Airport. They marched out proudly wearing their BRONZE Medals to be greeted by Family and Friends waiting to congratulate them. This was the end to what had been an amazing five days in Austria, they did themselves the CLUB and IRELAND proud. The whole Team gave an amazing performance to win the admiration and respect of all of the other Countries competeing. In total 26 Countries from around the World took part and the standard of Gymnastics was excellent. We went up against the best in the World and held our heads high. Well done to all who helped in some way to make this possible it is an experience we will all never forget. Some pictures are already loaded on the photo page more to follow soon.

July 13th - Congratulations to Team Austria who performed their GFA World Championship routine live on TV3 Morning AM today. They gave a great performance and looked very smart wearing their Irish tracksuits for the first time. Coach DENISE COUGHLAN was interviewed while the Team performed behind her well done everyone great show.
International News
July 14th - We are very proud to have 16 of our Gymnasts travelling to Austria for five days to represent IRELAND in the GFA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS they have trained extremely hard for this over the last year. It has taken a huge amount of effort from the Club, Gymnasts and Parents to get this far so a big thank you to all who have helped and supported the Team. Travelling with the Team are Coaches, Parents and supporters in total we have 32 people going to Austria we wish them success and will update you on their return.

End of Year Displays
June 13th - was our End of Year Display for both our Kinder and Junior Classes they had all been practising very hard in the weeks coming up to the display and they all put in great performances well done everyone.
June 21st - Our Senior and Intermediate Classes had a joint End of Year Display they performed a combination of Acro and Tumbling routines, including a display on the Tumbling air track. We also had some of the Senior Acro Pairs and Trios perform their All- Ireland Medal Winning routines.
Well done and a big thank you to Coaches EMER and YVONNE who between them put together the display routines for all the Classes in the Club from Kinders right up to the Seniors which takes a huge amount of their time and effort.
Have a great Summer and we hope to see you all in September for the start of another Gymnastics year.
NEWS - MAY 2009
National Acro Finals
May 9th + 10th - The All-Ireland National Acro Finals were held in Newry over two days with nearly 300 competitors from all over Ireland.
Our Club had 13 Gymnasts representing Dublin in the Finals. All our Gymnasts performed extremely well on both days. On the Saturday STEPHEN KELLYand MONIKA NZGHEUM were placed 1st in Prep A Mixed Pairs, STEPHEN also competed in Prep A Mens Pairs with DENIS CAREY and came 2nd in that group. We had three pairs in the Womans Grade 1 level AMY BROWNE and APRIL GREENE just missed out on a medal by placing 4th.
On the Sunday in the Womans Grade 1 Trio competition SARAH TOOMEY, FIONA TAPLEY and GRACE KAVANAGH placed 3rd to take the Bronze medal and the Clubs other Grade 1 Trio of SOPHIE TOOMEY, GRACE CAREY and AINE SHEEHAN came 5th in a very close competition. YVONNE KAVANAGH and EMMA O'BRIEN competed in Grade 3 Womans Pairs and were placed 5th over the two days and two routines.
Well done to all the Gymnasts and Coaches who trained them.
NEWS - APRIL 2009
National Tumbling Finals
April 18th + 19th - The All-Ireland National Tumbling Finals were held in Wicklow and we were represented by 13 Gymnasts from our Club. They all performed to a very high standard and did the Club proud. We came home with 4 Gold medals, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze. Novice Level - Stephen kelly 1st, Novice Level - Emma O'Brien - 2nd, National Level 1 - Dennis Carey 1st, National Level 2 - Beatrice Fagan 1st, National Level 4 - Niamh Farrelly 1st, National Level 5 - Fiona Tapley 3rd. Fiona also qualified for the Champion of Champions Final placing 4th.
Well done to everyone a great days tumbling.
April 17th - Two of the Clubs Coaches Emer Kavanagh and Yvonne Kavanagh attended an all day coaching course in Carlow. The instructor was Tosho Polov a former Bulgarian and International Gymnast. Tosho was a highly respected Gymnast on the International circuit winning many European and World Championship medals in Tumbling and Acrobatics. The Coaches found the course very informative and look forward to passing on their knowledge to our own Gymnasts.
APRIL 4th - Was the date of the South Dublin Acro Regional Competition, 16 gymnasts from our Club qualified to represent South dublin in the National Finals which will be held in Newry in May.
Well done to everyone who qualified and good luck in the Finals.
NEWS - FEBRUARY 2009
FEBRUARY 1st - We had three gymnasts competing in the Tumbling ATT Finals in DCU and all three brought home GOLD medals.
First up was SOPHIE TOOMEY who won a Gold Medal at National level 2.
Next was FIONA TAPLEY who won Gold at National level 3.
To complete the Hat-trick NIAMH FARRELLY also won Gold at National level 3.
To Finish off a great day South Dublin were also awarded the overall Tumbling ATT Trophy.
Well done Girls a great achievement by you all.

DECEMBER 13TH - We had Great success at the National Acro finals in Sligo the PrepB Team of Women's Pairs - Amy Browne, April Greene, Grace Carey and Aine Sheehan all came home with Silver medals. The Grade1 Team of Sarah Toomey, Grace Kavanagh (Woman's Pairs) and Rachel Kavanagh, Grace Collins and Lisa Hickey (Woman's Trio) were just edged out of the medals by the last score of the day. The Prep A Pair of Stephen Kelly and Monika Njeuka and the Grade 2 Woman's pair of Yvonne Kavanagh and Emma O'Brien all gave excellent performances but did not have full teams at their levels.
NEWS - NOVEMBER - 2008
NOVEMBER 23rd - The South Dublin Acro Regional Competition for the ATT Trophy was held in Clondalkin and we are pleased to announce that 13 of our Acro Gymnasts have qualified for the National Finals which will be held in Sligo on 13th December.
NOVEMBER 9TH - Fiona Tapley along with coach Alan Dolan travelled to Shannon for a days training with the National Tumbling Squad, Fiona now has goals to achieve in order for her to trial for International selection in early 2009.
NOVEMBER 8th - Congratulations to the Trio who competed in Prague, In a huge group of 20 the Trio were placed 12th. The fact this was the first International Competition was a great result for them.
